Meander 1948

The hostel was really close to Taipei Main Station so it was easy to get to and from the airport, and around the city. There's a pretty big 7/11 underneath which is super handy and quite a few local restaurants and bubble tea places so you're never out of reach of anything. They hand out breakfast vouchers for a few local restaurants, which makes the meal free or super cheap. They have a washer and dryer with free detergent which I used and that was really handy to have in the hostel. The staff was super friendly and attentive whenever I needed anything.

3 Stays between Jully and August 2025, so let me copy/paste my original review: "An excellent hotel managed by excellent people. A aimé · The Meander team is fantastic: kind, helpful, professionnal people, always ready to make things easier and smoother for you. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and very well located (among other things : a 7-eleven right besides the hotel entry, and a night market at only 10 minutes). Plus, the neighbourhood is safe, even at 4.00 am. We spent almost 2 weeks in this hotel (July/August 2025), and if one day we go back to Taipei (and we will!), we'll go back to the Meander without any hesitation. 11 out of 10 for both the team and the hotel. Blew me away with how the photos understate Meander 1948. It's spacious, clean and lively. Always had people in the common area, especially in the upstairs bed/hammock/net thing. (Some rope is burning onto others, might need to check that out before jumping on) The breakfast vouchers were amazing and cover a good breakfast and you can use multiple at the same spot at the same time. Location is king, 7 minute walk to Taiwan Metro and the shops around Meander and great too. Beds were comfortable, clean and lots of Aircon power available for those hot nights.

I liked the comfortable beds and how there is a staircase for the upper bunks, the bathroom and shower is nice and clean, they had fresh towels available, the locker and luggage space was enough for all my stuff, the common area was nice, so much space, there was a nice hanging hammock, books, the kitchen had everything - fridge, oven, coffee maker, even tea, utensils, there was a lot of seating space, the people i met there were friendly and nice, the location is good, near the taipei main station and many other shops and stores, the staff were friendly and nice, they have house slippers they also had laundry and a balcony, they offered free meal coupons with partner shops

We stayed in the Meander Osaka hostel and enjoyed it so decided to book the one in Taipei too. It’s in a great location - close to the main station and within walking distance to some shopping areas and local restaurants. We had breakfast included which meant we had a choice of 4 restaurants to go to. We would recommend trying Li-Ji Soy Milk for a traditional Taiwanese breakfast. The room was a good size and showers had all the amenities we needed for our stay. Common area was nice too, although as we had a private room we didn’t need to use it much. Fresh towels provided each day along with bottles of water.
